what to expect
First-time visits to a church can feel like going to first time family reunions. You know you’ll be welcomed but you’re not quite sure what to expect. This online "Welcome Center" will help you know what to expect when you come to Towering Oaks Baptist Church.
What kind of church is Towering Oaks?
Towering Oaks is a Southern Baptist church that seeks and promotes a personal relationship with God. We are fully committed to the truths of the Bible. We strive to communicate those truths in a relevant and understandable way for many that face real issues and are looking for answers. We have discovered that those answers are only found in a personal walk with Jesus Christ. We consider ourselves to be real people; not perfect, just forgiven sinners that have experienced a love and acceptance that we joyfully share with others.
Parking and Entrances
We have “Guest Parking” spaces available as well as ample handicap spaces. Parking near front canopy gives you quick access to the children’s wing, while the entrance under the steeple leads you to the worship center. The rear entrance takes you to the adult classes, the youth underground and the family life center.
How will I know where to go?
Our Welcome Center in the front-foyer entrance is staffed with helpful volunteers who can answer any of your questions.
What are the services like?
At Towering Oaks we love to sing! Our Sunday morning service consists of singing the beloved, well-known hymns to contemporary music and songs of the faith. Lyrics are provided on our screen in front of the sanctuary.
Our pastor presents a message from the Bible that is relevant to our lives today and helps enlighten its truth for everyday application.
Will I have to sign anything or be singled out in any way?
No. We certainly want to get to know you, but we want you to be comfortable as well. We will NEVER ask you to wear a visitor badge or stand up and introduce yourself. We want you to remain as anonymous as you want to be. Even if you do fill out one of our "connection cards", we promise not to knock on your door or call you — unless you ask us.
What about my kids?
While you enjoy the worship service or Sunday school class, we offer opportunities of fun and learning in a variety of age-appropriate children ministries. Our Nursery is available for both services and is equipped with a numbered-tag security system. We are a church that is staffed with church volunteers complete with background checks, so as to ensure your child's safety. We expect that your children will enjoy these activities.
Children’s Church is available for our kindergarten thru 3rd graders on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and is dismissed from the 10:30 a.m. service. Please check out "Kids" under our NEXT GENERATION page for more information.
What do you have for teenagers?
Our Student Ministries team is called "The Underground" and offers a full slate of activities and spiritual development opportunities for students from grades 7-12 Sunday mornings at 9:00am, and on Wednesday nights at 6:15. Otherwise teens join us in the worship center for cross-generational worship.
How do I connect with others?
We are convinced more than ever that the best place for spiritual growth and connecting with others is in a small group of caring people. Our groups meet at 9:00AM on Sunday mornings, and at times on Sunday or Wednesday evenings. These small groups are the best place for a lot of things: friendship-building, encouragement, prayer, support and training.
